Calories count!
I just did a little middle-of-my-first-week weigh in, and it looks promising! Not going to reveal anything yet – too soon, too soon!
But it does seem that a little bit of exercise and not overeating has a positive effect. The previously mentioned pizza is being stretched to at least 3 meals – I could probably have managed it in one not so long ago…
Here’s an interesting factoid – in one slice of Dominos Veg Supreme, there are approximately the same number of calories as a bowl of pasta. And I feel that pasta is the more filling of the two options.
That said, in a fully prepared Pot Noodle, there is something like 450 kCal – which is going on for 3 slices of pizza/bowls of pasta, and I don’t feel that it seems like that much. This is the reason a lot of people overeat – the things they DO eat do not satisfy them, so they crave more. And more. And more.
So I’m now on a quest to find a tasty, satisfying, healthy, moderate calorie diet – and by diet, I mean style of eating, not cutting everything out! It’s back to ‘everything in moderation’ again!
I likes me a pizza, I does
But do you know how many calories there are in a pizza? Answer : lots!
Solution? Don’t eat a whole pizza, duh! The pizza with the lowest calorific (cal-horrific?) content is the good old cheese and tomato – but a vegetarian-type pizza comes in only slightly higher. According to Dominos, in their Vegetarian Supreme, medium sized, there are only about 12 more calories per slice than in their cheese and tomato. But the large Meateor is about double….!
I once read about a McDonald’s diet, where it was possible to eat at McD’s every meal every day and still lose weight – well, of course it’s possible, but it doesn’t mean it’s healthy! Everything in moderation, that’s what my gran used to say. And if you’re interested, get the chicken McNuggets – they’re about the lowest thing on the menu! Six chicken nuggets have less calories than a medium fries!! And avoid the milkshakes and ice cream at all costs!
