My Feet. They are Purple.

They are purple. My feet…

Both leg plasters are cut to allow a little flexibility and room to adjust for swelling. The bandage around the right one was loose this morning, so I took it off in order to tighten it. Before I put it back on, I had a little peep at my foot through the crack. It’s gone purple down the broken side, round my ankle, the bottom of my shin, and along the base of my toes!

Wondering if I was somehow symmetrical, I took a look at the other foot – which is also purple!

I’m turning into Barney The Dinosaur!

Oops, I did it again!

Today, I am sort of comfortable.

Since Tuesday, I haven’t been!

Running down the stairs (as you do) on Monday night, I missed the bottom three steps and landed with a considerable whack, face first on the tiled floor, yet miraculously avoiding hitting any part of my body hard other than my feet.

When I couldn’t walk the following day, I took an 8 hour trip to the hospital, followed by a 5 hour trip the day after.

It appears I have broken the fifth metatarsal in my right foot, and damaged the second metatarsal in my left, along with some ligaments and hyperextension. Both legs are now in plaster from the toes up to the knee.

My mobility is now limited…

This is of course not the first time I have suffered injury at the hands (feet?) of some steps, having previously slipped off one and fractured my ankle. Must buy a bungalow next time.
